Angelina Johnson, referida como "a tall black girl" (garota negra e alta), foi artilheira defensiva do time de Quadribol da Grifinória entre 1990 e 1996, tornando-se capitã da armada entre 1995 e 1996. Angelina entrou para Hogwarts dois anos antes de Harry Potter e seus amigos.


Em seu sexto ano, foi convidada a ir ao Baile de Inverno, em comemoração ao Torneio Tribruxo, pelo gêmeo Fred Weasley, conforme consta no livro Harry Potter e o Cálice de Fogo.


No seu sétimo ano (no quinto livro da série, Harry Potter e a Ordem da Fênix), com a saída de Olívio Wood, tornou-se capitã do time da Grifinória, conduzindo-o à vitória, apesar das atuações desastradas do goleiro Rony Weasley e da suspensão do apanhador Harry Potter e dos gêmeos Fred e George Weasley, batedores do time.


A primeira vez em que ela aparece é quando Harry é convocado para jogar pela Grifinória como apanhador. Angelina Johnson, Cátia Bell e Alícia Spinnet são as atacantes do time de quadribol da Grifinória.


Angelina está presente quando a escola de Hogwarts é invadida e todo o antigo time de quadribol da Grifinória volta para lutar ao lado de Harry contra o Lorde das Trevas.


Mais tarde, com a morte de Fred Weasley, ela se casa com o irmão dele, George Weasley e tem dois filhos: Fred Weasley II (em homenagem ao ex-namorado de Angelina) e Roxanne Weasley. J.K. Rowling fez uma árvore genealógica que postou em seu site, confirmando que Angelina Johnson se casou com George Weasley e deixando claro que Angelina era a ex-namorada de Fred.


Foi interpretada por Danielle Taylor nos dois primeiros filmes e por Tiana Benjamin nos demais filmes da série Harry Potter.
