Is it legal to cut a designer logo off of a piece of clothing, sew it onto another and sell it?
Let's say I were to cut the Versace or Nike logo off of an old, ruined piece of clothing, Then I sew or glue it onto something else and sell it.
But I tell the buyer in advance that the product isn't officially by that brand, that the logo was sewn onto it so that there isn't any concern with fraud.
Is this a legal and viable business, or is this infringing upon the copyrights and trademarks of the brand such as Versace and Nike? Am I liable for modifying their trademarked brand, or is it legal to modify their clothing by combining their piece of clothing with another?
