Asked to move my court date and now I cannot attend the appointment to move the court date
I gotten a traffic ticket for
136 (1)(a) every driver approaching a stop sign at an intersection, shall stop his or her vehicle at a marked stop line or, if none, then immediately before entering the nearest crosswalk or, if none, then immediately before entering the intersection.
Story:
It was late at night with a storm and a blackout occurring in a neighborhood. I was driving and I remembered a stop sign was supposed to come up soon which was next to a driveway. As I was approaching the stop sign I see these lights from a car backing up. The passenger next to me informed me that the stop sign is here. So what I have done is past the stop sign a little bit not to get hit by who was backing up and slowed down to 5km/h and after a few seconds I continued driving and got pulled over.
Anyways I went and I asked to change my court date and now I have a meeting coming up which I can no longer attend since one family member needs to be taken to physiotherapy and cannot go alone. Also, my schedule ended up clearing and now I am able to attend my original date and do not need to change it.
I have called and told them that I no longer need a change of date but they told me I still need to go.
Any advice on what to do?
