I have started my own company and I have some doubts about the Intelectual property of the web application that I am developing. I am not sure shall I keep it or pass it to the client. I and my client never talked about this matter and they mainly see the web app as "Software as a Service" because most of it was developed at my free time (before registering my own company), and I am getting paid on an hourly basis. I am not sure if there would be a straight answer for this, but my research shows that it is an arbitrary thing. Sometimes the developer keeps the IP, sometimes the client keeps the IP. Is there any specific guideline for this? Happy to modify my question to avoid downvote.
